M.O.B.I.L.I.S.

M.O.B.I.L.I.S. is a nationwide 12-month program for changing the exercise and nutritional behavior of people with obesity (BMI 30-40). This interdisciplinary program was developed under the direction of Prof. Dr. A. Berg (University Hospital Freiburg) in cooperation with the University of Sports Cologne (Prof. Dr. H.-G. Predel; Dr. D. Lagerström), the University of Applied Sciences Hamburg (Prof. Dr. M. Hamm) and the Department of Sport and Exercise Psychology at the University of Freiburg (Prof. Dr. R. Fuchs; Prof. Dr. W. Göhner). The aim of M.O.B.I.L.I.S. is to establish an energetically balanced lifestyle (Berg et al., 2008, 2009, 2010). This is to be achieved by a combination of theoretical coaching and practical measures to change physical activity and nutritional behavior. The psychological coaching part of M.O.B.I.L.I.S. is based on the MoVo concept and was also published under the label MoVo-LIFE (Göhner & Fuchs, 2007). A total of 18 theoretical units and 40 practical exercise units are conducted in the four areas of exercise/sports, nutrition, psychology and medicine. A detailed description of M.O.B.I.L.I.S. can be found at www.mobilis-programm.de.

The M.O.B.I.L.I.S. courses are no longer organized centrally through the M.O.B.I.L.I.S. association, which means that anyone can organize M.O.B.I.L.I.S. courses without contacting the association. Also the homepage is no longer maintained by the association. If you have any questions, please contact Prof. Dr. Wiebke Göhner.
